Gym Tech is helping the Tri State area go GREEN! Gym Tech has always been an advocate of  maintaining and improving the environment. Our programs consist of recycling, reusing, maintaining instead of purchasing new, and reducing our carbon foot print.Gym Tech’s recycling program goes beyond just glass and metal. In 2004 Gym Tech began our fitness equipment recycling program. This program was introduced when we began accumulating old equipment that was not operational and the cost to repair the units was too high for re-sale. What we do is remove any working parts and electronics; we then strip the frame of any non metal parts. At this point we have good metal that can be recycled. Gym Tech then takes all of the used metal to a scrap metal yard where it can be reused for future products. Gym Tech furthered it recycling program when we sent our technicians to school to be educated on rebuilding non working fitness equipment motors, alternators, hub assemblies and more this too reduces our waste products and at the same time saves our customers money by be able to rebuild their parts at a fraction of the cost of new parts. 
Gym Tech’s policy on waste is very strict. Simply stated anything that can be reused is not wasted. Most companies receive shipments in boxes from their suppliers. Those boxes are opened the merchandise is stocked and the boxes are either thrown away or recycled. In our case we re-use the boxes. It may seem simple but most companies wouldn’t even think to do this. This too reduces our waste, and saves our customers money because we save on packaging materials while saving the environment.
Gym Tech has been helping reduce waste not only at its own company but at others all over the tri state area. Gym Tech Preventative Maintenance Program has been proven to increase the lifespan of its customer’s equipment. That means that instead of replacing an entire gym’s worth of fitness equipment every three years Gym Tech’s customers can keep their equipment for more than double the amount of time, therefore reducing waste and saving these companies tens of thousands of dollars, which can be passed onto their customers. Gym Tech’s latest achievement in going green is the purchase of the new Ford Transit Connect. As soon as the vehicle was released to the public in the United States we immediately placed an order to replace our larger less fuel efficient Ford E250’s. Our E250 vans were getting an estimated 12 miles per gallon in city driving. The Ford Transit Connect achieves an estimated 23 miles per gallon in city driving. This is has cut our fuel consumption by 50% and is greatly helping us to reduce our carbon foot print. The Benefits the Gym Tech GREEN Project
2. Gym Tech helps to reduce Acid Rain; Again by reducing the burning of fossil fuels we have helped to reduce acid rain. By recycling and reusing we have also cut down on the waste that is burned in incinerators which also helps to reduce air pollution and acid rain. 3. Gym Tech helps to Cut waste; by reducing the amount of waste not only Gym Tech produces but our by helping our customers do the same we are helping to slow the impact of waste on the environment. 4. Gym Tech helps customers SAVE MONEY; While we have been learning new ways to help the environment by recycling, reusing, and maintaining, we have in effect found ways to save our customers money. We pass the savings on by not having to purchase packaging materials for shipments, by offering rebuilt parts instead of new, and by maintaining our customers existing equipment rather than replacing it. Support Green Companies. In the past, most companies haven't paid much attention to the environment. But now, a growing number are changing the way they do business. Some are changing their products so that they are less wasteful or polluting. Others are encouraging their employees to carpool or to recycle. Still others are helping their local communities improve their environments. These companies deserve all of our support!
